Unit 6: Earth Systems
Observe different bodies of water (lakes, rivers, oceans, seas, and ponds) and landforms (mountains, glacier, valleys, volcanoes, islands, and canyons) here in North Carolina and around the world!
Unit 7: Earth, Moon, and Sun
During this unit we will focus on how the Earth, Moon, and Sun are related (rotations vs. revolutions). To introduce this concept, we will observe shadows to gain a better understanding of the Earth's rotation. We will learn about the parts of the Solar System (8 planets, the Sun, and the Constellations.)
Unit 8: Structure and Function
To end the year, we will finish with a unit that focuses on our bones, muscles and joints. Students will learn about the skeletal and muscular systems and how they are essential for life (protection, movement, and support.)
